Her life
Lisa A. Carter was born on November 25, 1960 to Mr. and Mrs. Phonzell Barrett. She departed this life at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, April 17, 1998, after an extended illness.
Lisa was educated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help and graduated from ICA High School in 1978. She went on to attend the University of the District of Columbia.
She was baptized at Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church in Washington, D.C., and remained a member there. Lisa loved Jesus Christ with all her heart and soul, and anyone who ever met her knew immediately that she was filled with His spirit — you could see it in her warm and loving nature.
On August 8, 1981, Lisa joined into holy matrimony with William Carter. Through that blessed union they had two sons, William Jr. and David.
Lisa was employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation from 1980 to 1988, then went on to work for the Library of Congress in the Copyright and Licensing Division until early 1998. She loved to travel, and her favorite color was blue.
Lisa was, at all times, a thoughtful and giving person. She is deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
